The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is contracted by multiple municipalities to provide animal services and housing for stray animals.

  • In 2018, ARL Animal Services had 13,553 dispatched trips, an average of 37 trips each day.
  • There are 5.5 Animal Services Officers performing animal services from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week in the city of Des Moines.
